Trillium

Inspired by its namesake, Trillium is a sculpture of glass and metal — three petals folded around a single axis. As the form unfolds, it transitions seamlessly from anodized aluminum to printed glass.
Gallery
The glass meets a machined aluminum base, and the join has to forgive two materials that expand at different rates.
The machine
Printed on G3DP2 — the molten-glass platform Lios carried forward from the MIT research machines and ran in the studio.
